Nylon is an excellent wear and abrasion resistant material with high mechanical strength, good sliding properties and also resistant to many oils and chemicals.
Nylon rods and sheets are available in different formats including heat stabilised and graphite impregnated grades to improve friction resistance. Nylon is highly machinable, enabling high edge definition and surface smoothness when CNC machined. The Nylon family of plastics also demonstrates good electrical insulation properties and high resistance to fatigue which is ideal for friction bearing applications.
