GRP offers many advantages over metallic alternatives, especially when compared with steel equivalents. GRP’s benefits combine to deliver a highly cost effective, durable and sustainable product.
GRP is a polyester material that is reinforced with glass fibre. Each individual glass fibre is very fine with a small diameter, and they are woven to form a flexible fabric. The fabric is normally placed in a mould, polyester resin is added, followed by a catalyst. The process is repeated so that the many layers of fibre glass and resin are allowed to dry and cure.
